So this is my first blog post and the recipe for last nights pizza :) This is the ingredients for BOTH pizzas last night since most of the ingredients are the same it should be easy to figure out what goes with what.
2 Stonefire flat bread pizza crusts
Mozzarella Cheese (I bought the 2lb bag, but I love cheese so its your choice) publix brand is fine
1 stick of KerryGold Garlic & Herb butter
Bertolli Organic tomato sauce: Olive oil, Basil, Garlic
Bertolli Alfredo: made with real cream
Baby Bella mushrooms
baby spinach
Publix pepperoni
Ok so now that you have your ingredients, lets get cookin' :)
1.) First off pre heat your oven to a toasty 450 degrees
2.) next you are going to want to use a pizza pan or round baking pan. (i used an AirBake 12.75" non stick pizza pan) Find it at publix it was like 12 bucks
3.) Place your crust straight onto the pan (this is going to make moving the pizza around much easier, and clean up will be a breeze)
4.) Microwave half a stick of the garlic butter in a bowl until it's melted or mostly melted *watch the butter* Be careful not to burn the butter because the burn taste will carry over and ruin it. Take it out and stir it to make sure its totally broken down.
5.) Use a basting brush, coat your pizza crust with the melted butter. Be generous, everyone loves butter!
6.) Pour the tomato or alfredo sauce from the jar into a bowl, this makes it easier to spread the sauce around. Use a regular soup ladle and scoop 2-3 servings onto the pizza crust, using the bottom of the ladle to spread it around.
7.) Next get your cheese and grab handfuls spreading it over the pizza, as much as you like! best part is you won't get charged for "extra cheese" :D
8.) now it's time for your toppings; place the desired topping onto the face of the pizza, the trick here is to press them into the cheese so that they are not just sitting on top. This is a little tricky so just go slow and be gentle, kind of shimmy them into place.
9.) by now your oven should be at the right temperature so slide the pizza onto the middle rack and bake for 9 minutes. This is when your chef skills will come in handy, it's time for you to determine if the pizza is done to your desired taste. I ended up leaving my pizzas in for about 2 extra minutes.
10.) This is the last actual cooking step. Move your pizza up one rack level and turn on your ovens broiler. Watch your pizza and never close the oven all the way while the broiler is on. Broiling your pizza will get the cheese to bubble, making it extra cheesy when you bite into it. :) Be very carful not to burn the pizza during the broil process. *while broiling, it's a fast transition from delicious to burned as it only takes a few seconds to char the top of whatever you are cooking.*
11.) Take out your pizza and let it cool a few moments before diving in and burning yourself!
Enjoy your home made pizza!
